Valleys descending from the Alps, plunging to the sea.
Valleys and deep stone ridges covered with a thin layer of
earth. To be able to cultivate this land an enormous
construction of terracing was needed. Stonewalls to contain
the small quantity of earth in which to plant olive trees.
In this way from the sea up, and up again, Liguria was born,
stone upon stone, century after century, from the coastal
shores to high up in the mountainsides.

Taggiasca olives from our own estate at Castello di Bestagno,
Impero Valley, Liguria, Italy. The olives are hand-picked
by us, cold-pressed the same day and the oil put into our tins.
